Mary Allen graduated from Paschal High School in 2008 as Captain of Show Choir and Step Team. Dance has always been a passion of hers since she could remember. Throughout high school she attended Dance Concept Studio where her love for dance began and escalated from there. She studied all forms of dancing but specialized in Hip-Hop.
Mary was awarded the Directors Award in 2008 for her strong involvement in teaching and being a role model to the younger students at the studio. She performed on the competition team there for four years. At the age of 16 she performed “Funk Nation” at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington.
Mary’s experience includes, Dillard’s Fashion show, Gladney Adoption Agency Fashion Show, “Fort Worth’s Best” party, 106npark, Kwanzafest 2010, and many more. She performs with a dance company called Groupo Pokal, who performs at various events including the Dallas World Aquarium. She also performed at the bass hall: “The Music Man” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
Mary attends the University of North Texas in Denton as an Elementary Education Major and is in her junior year. She is president of her dance team, Definition, where they perform at many college events and off campus volunteer events. She also is a part of Work’n progress dance crew, who has performed at big events like World Of Dance, and Move to Groove.
Mary is presently an Academic Enrichment Specialist in dance for the dance team at Denton High School.
Dance is one of her biggest passions and no matter what life has in store for her or where the wind might blow, she will always keep dance close to her heart. Her goal is to give other students the same joy and experience she has had with dance and I hope to pass that on to the students of Innovative Dance. |
