Miss Abi Abel comes to Innovative Dance Inc. with an amazing range of performance experience behind her. Miss Abi began tap dancing at the age of three. That’s when Frances Lea first saw her dance at Montesorri Children's House. Frances introduced Abi (at age 6) to renowned tap dancer and highly respected instructor Larry Howard of Holleman and Howard fame. Abi danced under the instruction of Frances and Larry for 18 years, going on to teach for Frances and assistant teach for Larry. She still frequents their classes as a student seeking classic technique and pointers.

At the age of 8, Miss Abi performed in her first professional theater production, Annie, at Casa Manana in Fort Worth. This led to an amazing career in professional theater, performing in children's theater as well as in chorus/summer stock productions (including The King and I, Fiddler on the Roof, 42nd Street, and Singing in the Rain) for the next 10 years. Abi toured and performed with Casa Kids many years running, as well as with Ricky Leal Productions in Grand Prairie. Being on stage led to many commercials, including a local Sonic commercial where Miss Abi jitter-bugged along side Frankie Avalon.

 While a student at Texas A&M Abi played for the Women's Polo Team, winning Nationals twice and receiving All-West and All-American awards. Miss Abi returns to Fort Worth and joins us here at Innovative Dance Inc. after a 5-year career as a professional polo player. As much as she loves the horses, being on stage is where she truly feels alive. She is excited to be a part of Innovative Dance Inc. and looks forward to seeing her students share the energy and the love she has for the stage, for dance, and for performing.
